Snap hot dog costume

OK, OK, I’m sorry for that headline.

But if you had to write a story about an $80 Halloween costume based on a social media hot dog filter … well, you might Snap, too.

The costume, which you can really purchase on Amazon, is based on Snap Inc.’s dancing, flipping, animated, augmented reality wiener which took the internet by storm this summer. The break dancing hot dog can be affixed to any video situation, and you’d have to be a vegetarian to not find the humor in that.

This is no cocktail wiener: The Amazon product description for the two-piece polyester suit says it fits best on people shorter than 6 feet 4 inches tall and over age 14.

“Made of 100% beef, but never starts it!” the description adds.

Snap went public in March but has seen shares fall by nearly 40 percent since then. But that could change soon, especially if the hot dog is a hit for Halloween.
