Instagram is giving users another tool for going deeper on photo and video topics that interest them. The social media platform announced Tuesday that it is introducing the ability to follow hashtags.

If you’re into #beer or #Seahawks or #StarWars or pretty much #anything, the new function makes content related to those tags more discoverable. Instagram says following a hashtag is just like following a friend.

Instead of clicking on a random tag in a post or searching for a topic, top posts from hashtags that you follow will start showing up in your feed.

Users can also check out the hashtags that their friends follow to get ideas. But if your account is set to private, the hashtags you follow will only be visible to your followers.
