Gas Works hosts one of Seattle’s most epic Fourth of July parties. Big crowds (and traffic) flock to the iconic waterfront park for fireworks, food, music, and sunshine.

This year, Seafair and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance are hosting the Independence Day bash and offering some special transportation options for guests.

Uber is partnering with the event hosts and setting up a dedicated pickup and drop-off zone for riders on N. Northlake Way and Waterway 19. New riders can get free lifts up to $15 using the promo code SUMMER4TH. There will also be a turnout and valet for cyclists arriving for the festivities on bikes.

“We ask you to come early, ride your bike, walk, use Uber, and you’ll find it will be much easier than its been in the past,” said Richard Andersen, President and CEO of Seafair.

Going the public transit route? Bus routes 26, 62, 5, 28, and 31 will all get you within walking distance but delays are expected due to increased holiday traffic. Use the King County Trip Planner app for up-to-date information.

“Metro buses will be running but there will obviously be challenges with that many people on the street so we encourage people to walk or use Uber,” Andersen said.
