The comedian has starred for four seasons on the show, as the owner of a house which served as the “incubator” for Pied Piper, the fictional company at the center of the weekly send-up on the tech community and personalities that circulate within it.

“The producers of Silicon Valley and T.J. Miller have mutually agreed that T.J. will not return for season 5,” HBO said in a statement, reported on by Variety and others. “In Erlich Bachman, T.J. has brought to life an unforgettable character, and while his presence on the show will be missed, we appreciate his contribution and look forward to future collaborations.”

HBO also announced that the show, which premiered in 2014 and has been nominated for Emmy Awards for Best Comedy Series three times, would be returning for a fifth season next year.

Created by Mike Judge and Alec Berg, the show’s current season ends June 25.
