President Donald Trump’s tweets made news yet again early on Wednesday, though this time is certainly unique.
You may have already seen the #covfefe hashtag going around. That’s because Trump tweeted this just after midnight in Washington D.C.:
Who can figure out the true meaning of "covfefe" ??? Enjoy!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 31, 2017
It seems as though Trump was typing out “coverage,” but it’s unclear what happened.
As The Washington Post notes, the word “does not appear in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.”
Twitter, meanwhile, had a field day. The hashtag #covfefe quickly rose atop the worldwide trending list.

So there you have it — covfefe!
Update: White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said covfefe wasn’t a typo and Trump knew “exactly what he meant.”
