Wave Broadband announced today it will more than double the size of its Kirkland headquarters.

The firm said it has finalized a lease for 88,000 square feet in the planned Kirkland Urban project, slated to go up on Central Way near Peter Kirk Park, replacing the existing Kirkland Parkplace development.

Wave and Tableau Software have been rumored as key tenants at Kirkland Urban for some time. Tableau confirmed its lease in the redevelopment project earlier this year. Both companies have offices in the existing Kirkland Parkplace complex.

Wave’s 10-year lease is for three stories of an eight-story building and 88,000 square feet. Tableau’s lease is for three stories and 92,000 square feet.

Wave said it expects to move into its new space in spring 2018. Approximately 450 of Wave’s 1,300 employees work out of its current 42,000-square-foot headquarters in Kirkland.

Editor’s Note: Wave’s employee count has been corrected since original post.
