Uber app

If you’re a creature of habit in your daily movements around whichever city you live in, Uber is paying attention, and the ride-hailing company has redesigned its app to better predict where you might be going and who you want to see.

In a post announcing the changes on Wednesday — its first redesign since 2012 — Uber said it learns from your routines. By syncing your calendar with the app, Uber will know where you’re supposed to be at a certain time. Sync your contacts, and Uber will take you to a person, not a place.

Uber is also altering the manner in which you can get to each location by making it easier to see different its types of rides, such as UberX, UberBlack or UberPool, and the prices associated with each level of service before you select.

When your ride is under way, the Uber app keeps working for you by offering more experiences tailored around where you’re going. If you’re headed out to eat, you can browse Yelp reviews straight from the app. UberEATS is also in there in case you want to order food on the fly. Foursqure, Pandora, Transit and Snapchat are all integrated for keeping you in the app while you’re in the car.

Uber says the new rider app on iOS and Android is rolling out globally starting today and over the next several weeks.
