T-Mobile made a splash when it started advertising special offers for customers every Tuesday, and today the self-proclaimed Un-carrier came out with what it calls its best deal ever.

Starting tomorrow, Bellevue-based T-Mobile will offer any customer on one of its 6GB or 10GB family plans a free Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Customers will get bill credits for 24 months equivalent to the value of the phone, though they will still have to pay sales tax on the device. If customers drop to a lower cost plan or switch to another carrier they would have to pay off the balance of the phone.

The deal doesn’t include the new Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge. Customers on the 6GB plan can get a Galaxy On5, which retails for $140, and those on 10GB or better plans can get the On5 or the J7, which typically costs $240.

This deal is the latest in the competition by mobile carriers to set themselves apart. T-Mobile, the third largest carrier in the U.S., and Sprint, the fourth largest, have attempted to chip away at AT&T and Verizon’s spots at the top of the market by offering lower prices, more data and perks for customers.

“This is our best deal ever – a free Samsung Galaxy smartphone on us! And this is a lifeline for the carriers’ long-abused customers, who have got to be sick of the rate hikes, the restrictions and the carrier BS,” John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile, said in a statement.

As part of the deal, families can also get four lines with 6GB of data for $30 per month per line and add more lines for $20 a month. Each line would be eligible for a free Galaxy On5. Four 10GB lines cost $40 a month per line as part of the deal, and additional lines cost $30 per month. Each line would be eligible for a J7 phone.
