When he’s not playing video games with Seahawks star Marshawn Lynch, Conan O’Brien is apparently sitting courtside with Steve Ballmer, owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers. Monday night, O’Brien offered a consoling pat on the back when it looked like L.A. might lose in dramatic fashion.

In a game against the Houston Rockets, the Clippers gave up a game-tying 3-pointer late in regulation. A Vine of the action shows Ballmer in disbelief and O’Brien, seated next to the former Microsoft CEO, reaching over to offer support while eyeballing the scoreboard overhead.

L.A. went on to win the game 140-132 in overtime, and a highlights video on the Clippers website catches a much happier Ballmer reacting to one of nine 3-pointers by his own J.J. Redick.
