starwarsBanking on the theory that too much “Star Wars” would never be enough “Star Wars,” ABC let on Thursday that the network is in talks with Lucasfilm about possibly bringing the sci-fi series to television.

ABC president Channing Dungey, in an appearance at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Beverly Hills, said as a fan she would “absolutely love to say ‘Yes'” to a primetime series based on the franchise. Entertainment Weekly and others reported on the news.

“The conversations with Lucas, we have had conversations with them and will continue to have conversations with them,” Dungey said. “I think it would be wonderful if we could find a way to extend that brand into our programming.”

According to EW, Dungey wouldn’t say wether a live-action series is what’s being discussed.

“It’s all a little bit hush-hush,” she said. “That company exists under a big shroud of secrecy. If you feel Marvel’s secretive, [Lucasfilm] takes it to a whole other level …[Talks] are ongoing. We don’t have an official timeline yet.”

While we’re waiting for small-screen developments to work themselves out, let’s be thankful for big-screen happenings like “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” that aren’t all that far off.
