Hello Dark Knight, my old friend.

With “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” opening to a rash of negative reviews, that sound of silence you’re witnessing today is Ben Affleck. The actor’s glum expression and fixed gaze star in a new viral video making the rounds.

The video, cut from an interview Affleck did alongside co-star Henry Cavill, had 1.2 million views on YouTube by Friday afternoon and cemented Simon & Garfunkel’s melancholy 1964 hit into the minds of everyone who watched it.

“I haven’t read any reviews …,” Affleck mumbles before those horrible reviews are superimposed on the screen. Cavill starts talking, the music starts playing and Affleck goes bye bye.

Bruce Wayne’s inability to muster much excitement over what the critics think of his new superhero flick is understandable. The film had a 29 percent rating at Rotten Tomatoes and its consensus read like so:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice smothers a potentially powerful story — and some of America’s most iconic superheroes — in a grim whirlwind of effects-driven action.

Comic geeks will undoubtedly not care too much what the critics think and turn out for the film this weekend. But will it be enough to make sad Affleck happy again?
