For all of the unintentionally uncomfortable moments that are captured throughout the campaign season, it’s refreshing to see a candidate purposefully put herself in a spot sure to induce squirms.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, not far removed from a wobbly and worrisome viral cell phone video on 9/11, held her ground firmly in a new video on the awkward internet show “Between Two Ferns,” hosted by comic actor Zach Galifianakis on Funny or Die.

For the uninitiated, Galifianakis is generally the one who makes things awkward for his guests, with often lewd or inappropriate questions. The goal is for the guests, who have ranged from President Obama to Jon Hamm to Natalie Portman and many more, to remain straight-faced throughout the staged proceedings.

Bad cable-access style music and set decor add to the charm. Clinton’s charm came from even agreeing to do the bit. Highlights included:

  • Galifianakis: “Not to take away from that historic significance of you perhaps becoming the first female president, but for a younger, younger generation, you will also become their first white president. And that’s pretty neat, too.”
  • Galifianakis: “What happens if you become pregnant? Are we going to be stuck with Tim Kaine for 9 months? How does this work?”
