If the best jokes are the ones that strike closest to the truth, than this fake job description for a front-end developer should be extra funny for many in the tech industry.
Ben Halpern, the man behind The Practical Developer, posted his spoof ad on Twitter and on his website and hit on many of the touchstones that can make modern job postings seem so ridiculous.

“I didn’t know it was fake until this line,” said a commenter on Reddit who made it to Halpern’s dig at diversity and pay for women.
“Going through the interview stage. This one hits pretty close to home,” said another Reddit reader.
A follow-up tweet added a few more qualifications and reaction rolled in.
You should have 5-7 years of ReactJs experience, be familiar with AWS Lambda for some reason, and literally live inside a container.

@ThePracticalDev Every tech interviewer I’ve ever had asked me about binary trees. I refuse to build them out of spite at this point.

On his website, Halpern writes that he is CTO and co-founder of The Practical Dev, Texts.com, Argo and Threddit. “I write in mostly Ruby and JavaScript and some other stuff. I build websites and apps and some other stuff. I usually have some other side projects on the go as well.”
A few tweets asked for the source of Halpern’s joke, and at one point he answered, “my brain?”
