In Minecraft’s ‘Tumble,’ one misstep lands you in hot lava.

Anyone who hasn’t completely lost their inner child remembers jumping from rug to chair to coffee table to avoid the hot lava below. Minecraft’s new mini-game is essentially the same concept — for a new generation.

Today, Mojang is releasing “Tumble,” a “frantic competitive” console mini-game within the Minecraft universe. Players hop around on tiles, trying to destroy the floor beneath their opponents’ feet. If they succeed, a fiery death awaits.

In June, Mojang (the Microsoft-owned maker of Minecraft) debuted its first mini-game, “Battle.” Like the name suggests, it’s a dueling game that lets players fight in arenas and fend off assassins. In addition to the “Tumble” release, Minecraft is also adding new maps for Battle that can be purchased in the Xbox store.

Mojang plans to release more mini-games for the console edition of Minecraft in the weeks ahead. “Tumble” is free and available on all consoles as of today’s update. Watch this trailer for more on “Tumble” — and good luck staying on dry land!
