Fans of The Beatles and LEGO may have just died and gone to toy heaven.
A new LEGO Ideas set features The Beatles Yellow Submarine from the iconic 1968 animated movie. Minifigures of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr are also included, along with the fictional character Jeremy Hillary Boob.
The set-design was submitted by Kevin Szeto and received the necessary 10,000 votes on the LEGO Ideas website to be considered for production.
“As an amateur musician and songwriter, I have always been drawn to the music of The Beatles,” Szeto said on Brickset.com. “The creation of the Yellow Submarine model was really my way of showing my affection for The Beatles, as well as trying to pay a small tribute to The Beatles phenomenon. The Yellow Submarine is bright, fun, and colorful, which also made it a good subject to translate into LEGO form.”
The Yellow Submarine set contains 550 pieces, will sell for $59.99 and be available Nov. 1.
