Facebook users who like to mix it up in the News Feed but keep their Timeline more tightly edited gained a new function that allows them to hide certain posts.

When posting a status update from the News Feed, a new check box appears that says “Hide From Your Timeline.” Clicking the box will mean your post will only show up in the News Feed and search results.

The action is mostly a streamlining of processes for anyone who would post in the News Feed and then return to the Timeline to select “hide” from the dropdown.

Right now, the feature is not available on Facebook mobile. And if you try to share a post in the web version, you don’t get the Timeline hiding option.
