primenowAmazon is rolling out Prime Now restaurant delivery in San Francisco starting today — expanding its one-hour service to what might be the restaurant delivery capital of the world, with its renowned restaurants and numerous tech startups seeking to crack the delivery market.

With the expansion, the Seattle-based tech giant is also introducing a new price guarantee for its restaurant delivery customers, offering to refund the price of any item that a customer finds at a lower price on the restaurant’s in-person menu within 24 hours of placing a delivery order through the Prime Now app.

San Francisco is the eighth restaurant delivery market for Amazon, following San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Baltimore, Austin and Chicago. The price guarantee is also rolling out in those existing markets today, as well.

The company is launching in 33 zip codes in San Francisco initially, which is the largest number of zip codes at launch in any market for the service at launch. Amazon says more will be added soon. At launch, 117 restaurants are participating in Prime Now delivery in San Francisco.

Amazon is offering a free one-hour restaurant delivery promotion for a limited time at launch in the city. One-hour Prime Now delivery typically costs $7.99.
