Vanity Fair posted this video of Star Wars creator George Lucas today, giving us a brief look into the mind of the man who created the saga.

In the video short, Lucas explains why he’s done directing Star Wars films and happy to pass the franchise off to someone else.

It’s also filled with some other delights, like Lucas asking Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams, “What happened to Darth Vader’s grandchildren?”

The oddest part of the interview? Lucas says, given the chance to be any Star Wars character, he’d choose … Jar Jar Binks.

He also says that he’s excited to be moving on to “experimental” films that no one will see.

Read the Vanity Fair piece with Lucas and Abrams here, which also shows a clip of Abrams at the end answering celebrity questions about the movie.

The Force Awakens is a mere month away, folks!
