On days like today, a perfectly dreary Monday, your hoodie alone probably won’t cut it.

So when it’s time to shelve your Pacific Northwestern pride and reach for an umbrella, you might want one that will stand up to the elements.

Meet the Cypress, engineered by a couple of guys in Vancouver, the umbrella they say will never break.

Unlike regular flimsy umbrellas you get at the drugstore for $10 and throw away when they inevitably bust, the Cypress features “a fully telescopic frame architecture which combines a traditional collapsible stem with an innovative telescopic rib design. Rather than a standard skeleton with U-shaped channels and hinged linkages, each rib is comprised of tubular sections coupled with precision machined joints and stainless steel pins.”

Available in both collapsible and classic designs, the Kickstarter is just over $20,000 on the way to a $38,000 goal, with 23 days to go.

About $46 gets you the “classic” package which includes the classic shape, and $53 gets you the collapsible package.
