If the idea of driving past one more Santa and his sleigh yard decoration makes you want to poke your eyeballs out, here’s a light display idea — the Death Star.
A Lafayette, Calif., family constructed this behemoth in time for Halloween, but is leaving it up to celebrate Star Wars: The Force Awakens and hopefully the holidays.
In the video posted by YouTuber Colby Powell, you’ll see the whole family get in on the fun — putting together about 2,000 feet of pvc piping, and parachutes to hoist the 23-foot diameter Death Star into place atop their roof.
Very cool — and nary a “Merry Christmas” in sight. Check it out.
