Is a Tacoma lifestyle magazine terrorist-worthy?
Perhaps so.
The South Sound Magazine reported over the weekend that its website was hacked by ISIS, which posted a black background with red letters that said, “Hacked by the Islamic State,” with an additional message “We are everywhere ;),” according to the Seattle PI.
The hack was part of a larger group of website hacks that happened throughout the United States and Europe over last weekend, NBC News reported, but the FBI contends there is no tie between the South Sound hack and ISIS.
The magazine’s web developer says a glitch in WordPress was part of the problem and the source of the attack is still unknown.
The issue was resolved on Monday and the South Sound‘s site is back and running. As lovely as the lifestyle magazine is, ISIS hacking a Tacoma lifestyle glossy is about as realistic as the terrorists attacking a shopping mall in Wichita. Just saying.
