psnowstreamingSony this morning announced a new game streaming subscription service for PlayStation owners in the U.S. and Canada that will launch on Jan. 13.

Sony first made its PlayStation Now streaming service available earlier this year in beta, allowing PS4 owners to stream PS3 games. But up until this month, the service forced people to rent individual games on a hourly, weekly, daily, or monthly basis at rather steep prices.

Now that’s changing with a new subscription plan that will cost $19.99 for one month or $44.99 for three months. At launch, there will be more than 100 PS3 games to play for an unlimited amount of time from publishers like Warner Brothers, Bandai Namco Games America Inc., SEGA, and Sony’s own SCE Worldwide Studios.

The service will be available to PS4 owners at launch, with support for more devices coming later. Sony is offering a free seven-day trial to those that want to try before they purchase a subscription.

We’ll be at the Sony keynote here at CES in Las Vegas later today and will update this post with any new information that comes from the presentation.
