This video of a military F/A-18C Hornet jet breaking the sound barrier a few meters above sea level is pretty incredible, but don’t blink: it flashes by in an instant.
The jet is manufactured by McDonnell Douglas / Boeing Northrop, and is used by the U.S. Navy and Marines, Royal Australian Air Force and the Spanish Air Force.
