Electronic Arts announced this week that it just completed its biggest beta test ever.
More than 9 million players beta-tested Star Wars Battlefront. And if the results being reported are even close to accurate, DICE and EA have a smash hit.
“Impressive. Most impressive,” EA wrote in its announcement about the single largest beta test its ever done for a game. “Ever since we revealed Star Wars Battlefront back in April, we knew the beta would be a huge test for our game. After all, the beta has been one of the most talked about topics around the game over the last six months, and it was exciting (and a little nerve racking if I’m being completely honest) to open it up to the world.”
According to Guardian Tech, “One thing pretty much everyone agreed on was that this game nails Star Wars.”
If you haven’t seen the trailers (above and below), now’s the time to look. The DICE/EA Star Wars universe is nothing short of amazing, with Hoth and Endor as the incredibly realistic backgrounds for these particular battles between the Rebel and Imperial forces.
The multiplayer format can work with up to 40 players, and is available for pre-order now, $60 gets the regular version available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Star Wars Battlefront comes out Nov. 17.
