Microsoft is just one of the forward-thinking brands out there snapping up the rights to domains, like .porn.
The mad rush is on to get the domain rights to such gems as .porn and .adult before they are available to the general public this summer. Microsoft has bought Microsoft.porn, and Office.porn and Office.adult, too.
The other big domain buyer in the news? Taylor Swift. Not sure if GeekWire is a Taylor Swift crowd, but the somewhat squeaky-clean, all-American Swift wants to keep her image that way. She’s also bought the domains for TaylorSwift.porn and TaylorSwift.adult, according to CNN Money.
Protecting your brand will get a whole lot harder on June 1. Then it’s a free-for-all.
