Office-for-Android-phone-Preview-now-available-1Microsoft is updating the Office experience for Android phone users today, starting with a public preview of three new apps to replace the existing Office Mobile app and matching the Office experience on Android tablets.

Microsoft has reworked the Word, Excel and Powerpoint apps for Android tablets to perform better on smaller screens. This includes altering touch sensitivity and optimizing the layout for one-handed use and thumb typing.

Android users can sign up to test the new Word, Excel and Powerpoint app by joining the Google+ group, then going to each app in the Play Store and waiting for the apps to replicate permissions. More details on testing the app can be found here.
