What better time to think about growing your own food than Earth Day? And what better way to dive into the process than an app?

Bonnie Plants presents Homegrown, a new app that will help you master your gardening skills. Or at least get a decent tomato.

Homegrown’s features include helping you select the best plants for your growing conditions, giving detailed growing advice and tracking your garden’s progress. You can enter every plant you have, what date you planted it and keep tabs on how it’s doing, too, like your own personal garden journal right in your pocket.

Since gardening is such a physical activity — and we’re assuming most gardeners these days keep their phones on them while doing it — it makes sense to have a little digital tracker right there. You can even keep a digital gallery of your grow process and share it via your social networks from the app.
