We knew selfie abuse was annoying, but it can downright be the death of you.

The latest report from Guardian Tech has 2015’s death toll at 12 after a Japanese man met his end after falling down stairs while posing at the Taj Mahal.

Other wondrous dream moments turned into nightmares this year include a man being gored to death during a bull run in Spain, and “two men who accidentally blew themselves up in the Russian Ural mountains when posing with a live grenade,” the Guardian reports.

Talk about looks that kill.

Mashable crunched the numbers and reports that selfies have officially killed more people than sharks, which have only taken out eight humans this year.

So if you’re afraid of going into the ocean, buck up — a random teenage girl tumbling down the the stairs is likelier to take you down than Jaws.

It’s so bad, in fact, that the Russian government saw fit to make a freaking safety poster about selfies advocating to quit taking the annoying pics on railway tracks, with gun and in front of large, wild animals, like bears.

Here that is again for your enjoyment:

If you really want to take a great picture of yourself, please follow the fabulous social media maven and professional model Coco Rocha’s advice: “Don’t take a selfie!” Give the camera to someone and ask them to take the shot for you.

We’re with you, Coco.
