If your post to “Netflix and chill” on Craigslist isn’t getting any responses, you might want to see this.

Newsweek reporter Polly Mosendz discovered this weekend after a quick search in New York City (where she’s based) a significant number of listings using those very same terms:

As Tech Insider reports, the bandied-about phrase “Netflix and chill” is often used to arrange a hookup via Craigslist. It’s a reasonable assumption that it’s also probably trotted out on Tinder quite often, too.

Mosendz told Tech Insider that she was searching for a new kitchen cart when it dawned on her to check for the “Netflix and chill” line.

“I had Twitter open and saw someone make yet another ‘Netflix and chill’ joke and I had Craigslist open at the same time,” Mosendz told TI. “My brain automatically went, ‘I wonder if anyone on Craigslist is sad enough to use Netflix and chill as a pickup line. Turns out at least 45 people are going with it.”

In the Seattle area, a quick search of “casual encounters” posts also puts the “Netflix and chill” line as fairly common. As of this a.m., at least 20 posts had that in the title.

So, looking to stand out from the crowd? You might want to finesse that a little bit.
