Sherlock Holmes is one of the most popular, revered characters of all time, so it’s insanely brilliant that Sir Ian McKellen is playing him in the new film Mr. Holmes.
In the movie, a much-older Holmes has retired to a seaside house, but one last mystery remains involving a beautiful woman from his past. Add in the always lovely Laura Linney and an adorable boy sidekick played by Milo Parker, who helps him solve the case, and this looks like a winner.
Sure, we loved Benedict Cumberbatch in the Sherlock TV series, but McKellen here has us sufficiently intrigued and delighted to put this on our summer movie list. Watch the trailer below:
