The latest in Hillary Clinton’s email debacle: the former secretary of state says that she wants the public to see her emails.

She tweeted this late Wednesday:

It’s just the latest twist in the brouhaha that’s unfolded since it was revealed last week that Clinton used a personal email server during her role as secretary of state from 2009-13. It was housed in her New York State home and registered under the name “Eric Hoteham.” All this came to light last week, when a House committee investigating the Benghazi, Libya, attacks issued a subpoena for her emails, according to AP.

All told, the email controversy looks bad for Clinton, who up until this point, was the leading contender for the Democratic nomination for 2016. She has yet to disclose why exactly she had her own server. The Washington Post is reporting that her team has turned over 55,000 pages so far. (No trees were available for comment.)

The Obama administration contends that it was not aware of Clinton’s server either, according to the AP.

Of course, Twitter is filled with interesting comments about her latest turn toward transparency:

I think it’s fair to say, in this age of the web and transparency, that if you plan to run for office, you must assume that 100 percent of your life will be on display for the public. So politicians, please take note: No more Anthony Weiner-like sexting, no more saying you’re hiking the Appalachian Trail, and certainly please assume that all your electronic communications should and probably will be public.
