Galvanize will open its doors in May at 111 S. Jackson St. in Pioneer Square.

Galvanize, the co-working space opening in Seattle next month, announced today that it will bring its data science school to Seattle.

The Denver-based company will offer a 12-week full-time program starting in June that teaches the skills needed for a data science career. Students will work with real-world data sets and earn experience across the data science stack, learning topics like data munging, exploration, modeling, validation, visualization, communication, and more. Tuition is $16,000.

“By the end of the program you can expect to have a solid grasp on a breadth of machine learning and statistical theory as well as have built numerous data science applications to be a successful data scientist in industry,” Galvanize said.

Galvanize operates a hybrid co-working space model that includes office space for entrepreneurs and educational programs. In addition to its data science courses, it also runs a full software development education program that also kicks off in Seattle this June.

Galvanize will open its Seattle location — the company has other locations in San Francisco, Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins — in May at a five-story, 71,000 square-foot building in Pioneer Square.

“Galvanize isn’t a co-working space,” Mark Saldana, marketing manager at Galvanize, told GeekWire in February. “We’re a network of technology campuses that provides access to opportunities for growth through industry-focused education. Our unique community is the result of entrepreneurs, students, industry partners, programming experts, data scientists and academics all working together and learning under one roof.”

Those interested in the data science program can attend an information session on April 9 at Startup Hall at the UW. You can also apply here.
