During the Microsoft press conference at E3, Electronic Arts announced the next installment in its very popular Plants vs. Zombies franchise. The series comes from Seattle’s PopCap Games, which was acquired by EA in 2011.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 will continue with the same wacky gameplay of its predecessor, Garden Warfare. That game is a third-person shooter where the players can choose to play as either a plant or zombie and then as different characters within each class.

It will be available next year for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

The trailer for Garden Warfare 2 shows new types of plants and zombies, including some that have been introduced in Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time on mobile devices.
