Update, 12/17: Thanks to everyone who entered! Congratulations to our winner, Kyle Boynton, a die-hard Star Wars fan who has a Han Solo quote (“Never Tell Me the Odds”) tattooed across his back. He’s currently experiencing the ‘Star Wars’ marathon at the Cinerama.
Here’s a great contest for our loyal GeekWire readers. At 1 a.m. on Thursday — that’s tomorrow morning — an epic marathon will begin at Seattle’s Cinerama, showing all seven Star Wars films, concluding with a special screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
It’s a sold-out event, but GeekWire has one extra ticket, and this is your chance to win it. Here’s how the contest works.
Send an email to [email protected] explaining, in 100 words or less, why you’re the Seattle region’s biggest Star Wars geek. For example, how has franchise has impacted your life? Do you have a Death Star tattoo on your butt? Do you draw life lessons from the Star Wars characters? How many times have you seen the movies? Do you quote Yoda or C3PO to random strangers? Is your house filled with Star Wars memorabilia? You get the idea.
Please include your mobile phone number to help us coordinate delivery of the ticket if you win.
If you attach a picture illustrating your Star Wars geekdom, your odds of winning will be significantly higher.
You must be a subscriber to GeekWire’s free daily email newsletter to be eligible to win. (You can sign up below if you aren’t already a subscriber.)
We’ll take submissions via the email address above through 5 p.m. Pacific today, Wednesday, Dec. 16. The winner will be chosen based on the the GeekWire staff’s judgment of the best entry, and notified by 6 p.m. today.
To win, you must be available to pick up the ticket this evening in Seattle. By submitting an entry, you’re also giving GeekWire permission to publish your submission, including photo and name, in a post on the site.
We’ll notify the winner directly via email and update this post once the winner has been chosen. Don’t forget to enter via the email link above, and may the Force be with you! (You’ll need it to get through all seven films.)
Note: GeekWire has purchased this ticket on its own, and this contest is not affiliated with Cinerama.
