Comcast customers with the X1 platform have access to a new “football companion.”

Comcast announced today a new feature for the X1 Sports app that allows fans to see real-time fantasy stats, player comparisons, injury reports, and more with a sidebar on the right side of your TV screen.

That means you can watch live game action — or any other programming — while stats and other related football information updates in real-time on the right side of your screen.

The feature looks quite similar to what Microsoft offers with its own NFL app on the Xbox One, which lets you “snap” the app on the right side of the screen and see stats and scores while watching live TV.

As more and more people utilize second screens while watching live games to access fantasy football stats, news, and other related information, companies like Microsoft and Comcast are trying to provide everything in one place.

Comcast added other features to its X1 Sports app in July, including the ability to “auto-extend” DVR recordings when games go past a scheduled airtime. It’s also testing a way to let customers easily jump to key highlights while watching recorded sporting events.
