centurylinkBusinesses in the Tacoma area now have access to CenturyLink’s gigabit Internet service.

The company announced today that an additional 5,600 business locations in the South Puget Sound — Federal Way, Gig Harbor, Lakewood, Silverdale and Tacoma — can now connect to its symmetrical 1 gig service.

CenturyLink’s gigabit service is now available to more than 64,000 businesses across Washington, and almost 500,000 locations in 17 states nationwide.

CenturyLink is also pushing ahead with its residential gigabit service rollout in the Seattle region. Earlier this month it introduced the service in six new neighborhoods, as the high-speed access is now available to more than 60,000 households in Seattle.
