AttendibleOn any given day, there’s plenty of stuff going on in Seattle. So how do you find a stand-out event or restaurant for those times when you’re ready to go out on the town? Our App of the Week is here to help.

Attendiblegeekwireapp, a free app for the iPhone from a Seattle-based startup of the same name, offers users a day-by-day guide for what’s cool in town. Users can browse the app’s listing of activities including cool dining opportunities, concerts and even marathons.

It’s a nifty way to get a quick handful of suggested activities for times when you want to go out but don’t know what to do. The app caters to a wide variety of tastes, and also includes an “Explore” tab with curated selections of activities based on a particular theme like “Neighborhood Hangouts” or “Great Date Spots.”

IMG_0247Right now, the app only offers recommendations for what’s going on in Seattle, though attendible Founder and CEO Georges El Khoury told GeekWire that the company plans to expand its offerings soon, and is currently focusing on Portland, San Francisco and New York for new content.

In addition to the recommendations, Attendible has another killer feature: a “Plan” tab that lets users compile a possible list of activities, and then send them off to friends via text message to see who’s interested in what. People who are looking for suggestions about where to go can hit the “Surprise Me” button, which will generate a quartet of plan suggestions that can then be sent out.

The feature requires users to log into Attendible in order to mark down their preferences. Attendible does have a web app, so people can still respond without using the app, though they still have to sign up for the service.

Overall, if you’re looking for a new app to plan a post-New Year’s excursion, Attendible is a solid pick, and well worth a look – so long as you’re in Seattle.

Attendible is available for free from the App Store.
