The newly competitive game-streaming war is on full display here at the PAX Prime game convention in Seattle this morning — with the veteran of the business, Twitch, positioned a short distance on the show floor from the new entrant, Google’s YouTube Gaming.

Twitch, which was acquired by Amazon last year, is the official streaming partner of PAX Prime. It has the larger and more fully featured booth at PAX, offering attendees the ability to stream and play games at kiosks, and tune into the live stream of events.

Google launched YouTube gaming earlier this week, winning early praise from gamers. YouTube Gaming’s proximity to Twitch on the PAX Prime floor underscores the emerging rivalry between the services. Attendees will able to easily get a sense for each service, one after the other, and compare their features.

Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are similarly positioned near each other in a different section of the show floor. PAX Prime is just getting under way, and we’ll have coverage on GeekWire throughout the day and over the weekend.
