And in other intergalactic films, here’s the new trailer for Star Trek Beyond, posted today.

GeekWire’s resident Star Trek fan and contributor Frank Catalano is not hopeful for the new film, taken over by director Justin Lin of The Fast and the Furious fame from J.J. Abrams. He writes that “all the special effects, fighting and lame humor…appear to be out of character.”

Take a look. With a bunch of action blast-’em shots set to the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage,” it does feel a bit surface-y and forced, instead of relying on the clever banter and suspense-building that Abrams is known for using in his films.

Star Trek Beyond is out next July 22. What do you think of the new trailer?
