Today is the 100th anniversary of Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, and what better way to celebrate that iconic moment in history than taking a few minutes to watch a fun cartoon about it?

Produced by the Science & Technology Facilities Council in the UK, the video of the moment that changed everything is narrated by actor David Tennant, formerly of Doctor Who and now the Purple Man in Jessica Jones.

Tennant explains how the theory came to be, Einstein discovering “spacetime,” then taking on Isaac Newton’s theory of gravity, discovering that mass causes spacetime to curve: “It’s warped space and time that’s keeping your feet on the ground.”

The video is filled with other neat factoids, for instance, a clock runs slightly faster high up in a skyscraper than on the ground.

It also sets up some unknowns yet to be figured out, like what exactly is dark energy and dark matter, and how that will affect Einstein’s theory on how the universe is expanding.

Who says science isn’t fun?
