This is so wonderfully warm and fuzzy we could not help but share. If you were a child of the late ’80s and early ’90s, you might remember a fantastic little program called The Wonder Years. Delightfully real, with all the highs and lows, it was Freaks and Geeks before Freaks and Geeks.

And now Fred Savage, who played Kevin Arnold, has donated his awesome New York Jets jacket to the Smithsonian. Apparently, it was meant to be, as Fred posted this on Instagram, according to Fast Company: “My mom kept this for 25 years because someday—she would joke—the Smithsonian might want it. Well…it turns out she was right. We (and the jacket) are heading to D.C. next month! Happy Birthday Mom!! I love you!”

The publicity machine is well-timed, as it coordinates with the entire series being released on DVD. Fun fact: Danica McKellar, who played Kevin’s girlfriend Winnie Cooper, is awesome at math and wrote several books for girls about pursuing that very career path.
