techtune

Updated below with answer and winner.

One of the most popular segments each week on our GeekWire radio show and podcast is Name that Tech Tune — a contest that challenges listeners to identify a random song or sound from the technology world. And whenever we get the chance, we like to pose the challenge to readers here on GeekWire, as well.

Up for grabs this week is a pair of tickets to the upcoming GeekWire Anniversary Bash, slated for March 20 in Seattle. (Early bird rates end today, by the way.) From the pool of correct answers, we’ll pick one person at random to win.

Are you ready? Here’s the sound.

If you think you know the answer, send it to contest@geekwire.com for a chance to win.

kiroradioName That Tech Tune is a regular feature of the GeekWire radio show, which airs in Seattle (97.3 FM) at 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturdays, except when pre-empted by live sports.

If you’re stumped, I gave a massive hint in the Name that Tech Tune segment this week. Listen here.

Send the answer to contest@geekwire.com for a chance to win the tickets.

Our guest on this weekend’s show is Danielle Hulton, who runs Ada’s Technical Books in Seattle. Tune in this weekend to hear the conversation, including some of Danielle’s book recommendations from the store, how the store works with Bitcoin and e-books, and much more.

Update, March 8: The answer, as many of you knew, is Flappy Bird. Congrats to our winner, Joel, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the GeekWire Bash on March 20.
