If you’re noticing a lack of ads on GeekWire and many other sites today, there’s a reason: Google’s DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP), the ad-serving platform used by a wide variety of sites, is in the midst of an apparent outage this morning, with widespread reports of problems on Twitter and Google’s product support forum.
We’ve contacted Google for more information and will update this post as we hear more. In the meantime, just think of it as creative white space.
Update, 7:30 a.m.: DFP is back, at least for us. A big thanks to our advertisers, and don’t forget to support them! We’ll update this post as we hear more from Google.
Enjoy the @newyorker ad-free! Sponsored by the #DFP outage

@markjaquith If done right, DFP is loaded asynchronously, so shouldn’t hang. Example: http://t.co/sTmyDZuhlT
