geekworkEarlier this month, Seattle-based beauty product startup Julep launched a new tool that helps women apply nail polish. Jane Park, the company’s CEO who was named CEO of the Year in May, drew inspiration for the device from women complaining on Twitter about how difficult it is to paint their nails at home.

“We noticed how hard it is for people to polish with non-dominant hands,” Park explained to GeekWire back in January. “We knew it was something that people were struggling with.”

Clearly, the Julep team values the digital space as a tool to interact with and learn from customers — and they’re looking for someone that shares that passion. The company has an opening for a Senior Product Manager to help transform its digital products and develop a deep understanding of the online behavior of its customer base. Candidates with three or more years of experience in product management should apply here.

zillowZillow, Software Development Engineer, Data Platform

In a recent Fortune profile, Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff recounted the story of how he first learned about Twitter. After Zillow Chairman Rich Barton asked Rascoff for his opinion on the social media platform, the CEO turned to a summer intern to show him the ropes.

“I spent two hours with her,” he told Fortune. “Today, she has a team of five people working for her.”

If that kind of culture appeals to you, check out Zillow’s GeekWork listings. The real estate company has several openings, including a Software Development Engineer position for its data platform. Zillow is looking for someone to design and write solutions for processing large volumes of data, collaborate with others to implement your vision, and mentor other Zillow developers.
