entrepreneurs of the year split1Porch CEO Matt Ehrlichman and Gravity Payments CEO Dan Price just were named “Entrepreneur of the Year” — Ehrlichman receiving the honor from USA Today and Price picking up the hardware from Entrepreneur Magazine.

It’s pretty unique to see two young entrepreneurs from the same city recognized in this manner, so we thought it would be fun to get them together on-stage to share tips, tricks and the hard-lessons they’ve learned in building their respective businesses.

So that’s exactly what we’re going to do at our big Startup Day conference and entrepreneurial bootcamp, taking place Jan. 30 at the Showbox Sodo in Seattle.

Startup Day 2015 300x250Ehrlichman and Price have agreed to appear together for a lively session, moderated by yours truly. It should be fun, informative and inspirational. We’ve got a few other surprises in store for the session — including a startup smackdown of sorts to truly determine the “Entrepreneur of the Year.” (Maybe arm wrestling).

Home improvement service Porch is one of the fastest growing startups in Seattle, and just a few moments ago announced the acquisition of yet another startup. Price, meanwhile, who started Gravity Payments at the age of 19, is one of the most thoughtful deep thinkers in the startup ranks. We’re delighted to match them up together.

startupdayspeakers11Early-bird tickets for Startup Day are available here, or via the form below. I hope you’ll join us for this inspirational day of talks and hands-on training. Other speakers on tap for the day-long event include Cheezburger CEO Ben Huh, Big Fish founder Paul Thelen, Koru CEO Kristen Hamilton and Concur co-founders Raj Singh and Mike Hilton. We’ll also once again, feature startup pitches from the Demo Zone, and grill venture capitalists on what they look for in startups.

A big thanks to Startup Day presenting sponsor Ernst & Young for helping to make this event possible.
