Donuts, the Bellevue-based domain registration company, announced today that it has hit a major milestone in its sale of new domains. Heavenly.coffee, which was purchased through GoDaddy (Donuts doesn’t sell any of its domains directly, but chooses to work with partners instead), is the millionth domain that Donuts has sold with a new top-level domain.

It’s a good sign for the health of Donuts’s business, which is built on selling new TLDs. The new domain options, which include phrases like .coffee, .guru and .photography, have begun rolling out across the internet since the start of this year.

“This is a real achievement not only for Donuts, but for the new gTLD program,” Chris Pacitti, a general partner at venture capital firm Austin Ventures and an early investor in Donuts, said in a press release. “The Donuts team is well out in front of the market, which has been starving for valid Internet identities for years now.  We expect significant growth to continue.”
