attensa12Attensa, a Portland-based startup that helps companies consolidate and disperse relevant information to employees in real-time, has raised $6 million according to a new SEC filing.

An additional filing that posted today notes an extra $475,000 that the company has raised. We’ve reached out to Attensa for details and will update this story when we hear back.

Attensa is a knowledge management software startup that aggregates inbound information from sources like meeting minutes, news feeds, and business apps, and compiles that into a central repository. Users can decide who needs what information, and in what format.

The idea is to boost productivity by quickly creating context around relevant information. Customers range from Fortune 500 companies in the pharmaceutical industry to those working in technology fields.

Voyager Capital, a Portland VC firm, is one of Attensa’s investors. Voyager Managing Director Erik Benson told GeekWire that the startup competes “to some extent” with Microsoft Sharepoint. Attensa is Voyager’s ninth investment in Oregon.

Attensa is led by CEO Charlie Davidson, a former attorney and investor, and COO Hans Witt, a former Microsoft general manager.

Update, 1:20 p.m.:

We caught up Davidson, who wrote in an email that the SEC filings “describe activity that is both financial and strategic valued at 6+MM.”
