Apple is welcoming Microsoft Office into its App Store with open arms.
Well, at least that’s the vibe from Apple CEO Tim Cook’s latest tweet that was sent a few hours after Microsoft released Office for iPad:
Welcome to the #iPad and @AppStore! @satyanadella and Office for iPad

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who made his first public appearance at an event announcing the news this morning, responded with a thank you and a “#cloud4mobile” hashtag:
Thanks @tim_cook, excited to bring the magic of @Office to iPad customers #cloud4mobile

9to5Google writer Seth Weintraub made an interesting observation, noting Apple’s welcome letter to IBM that was published in the Wall Street Journal more than 30 years ago.
