Fans of Apple’s biggest desktop are in for a treat. Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, offered a sneak peek of the newest revision to the Mac Pro. But even from a small peek, there’s a clear message: this is a machine that’s built for speed.

According to Macworld, the computer will feature a brand new Intel Xeon processor, PCIe flash memory and external expansion powered by Intel’s Thunderbolt 2 technology.

Video editors who need lots of high resolution displays are in luck–the tower is slated to support three 4K displays hooked up to twin workstation GPUs.

As the announcement was just a sneak peek, there’s no word yet on how much of a hit your wallet will take from the new Mac Pro.

In addition to the Mac Pro, Schiller also unveiled a major refresh to the MacBook Air line of ultralight laptops.

All of the models will receive an upgrade to Intel’s new Haswell ULT processor, the fourth generation of its Core series of CPUs, which brings a significant savings in battery life, Macworld reported. The 11-inch model will feature between 5 and 9 hours battery life, and the 13-inch model boasts between 7 and 12 hours of total run time.

Prices start at $999 for the 11-inch Air, and $1199 for the 13-inch Air. Each model starts with 128 GB of flash memory, and can be upgraded to 256 GB for an additional $200.
