REI may be known for ice axes and backpacks.
But the Seattle online retailer is getting a little geeky in the board room.
The company today announced that it has named venture capitalist Steven Hooper — the former CEO of AT&T Wireless and co-founder of Ignition Partners — and Matt Compton — the CEO of Portland social commerce startup ShopIgniter — to the board.
Incumbent director John Hamlin, a former executive at Dell who now works with Austin, Texas-based private equity firm Bozeman Limited Partnership, was re-elected to serve another term. And Chloe Harford, an executive at Zillow, was appointed to the board earlier this year.
Hooper will serve a three-year term, while Compton and Harford will serve on the board for 12 months.
